# NikoCraft Server Guide

Welcome to the NikoCraft guide! This is the complete player handbook for our survival server. Here you will find everything you need to know: how to log in, every command available, how the economy and auction house work, tips for progressing and making money, and how to set up Simple Voice Chat.

## Getting started

### First join — registration

When you join the server for the first time, a login dialog appears on your screen.

* If you already have an account — type your password and press "Log in".
* If this is your very first time — type a password (and repeat it) and press "Register".

Once you log in or register you are placed in the world automatically. While you are not logged in you cannot chat or use commands — this protects your account and your items.

Account rules:

* Nicknames must be 3–16 characters and may only contain letters, digits and underscores.
* Passwords must be 4–64 characters long.
* If you leave or get disconnected during login, just rejoin and log in again.
* After successful login your account remembers you for a while — you won't need to enter the password on every single join.

### Account commands

* /changepassword <old> <new>  — change your password (aliases: /changepass, /cp)
* /logout — log out of your account
* /unregister <password>  — permanently delete your account

## Complete command list

### Teleportation

* /tpa <player>  — send a request to teleport to that player
* /tpahere <player> — ask that player to teleport to you
* /tpaccept [player] — accept an incoming request (optionally from a specific player)
* /tpadeny [player] — deny an incoming request
* /tpacancel — cancel all of your outgoing requests
* /rtp — random teleport to a safe random location
* /home [name] — teleport to one of your homes
* /sethome [name] — set a home at your current position
* /delhome [name]  — remove a home
* /homelist — list all of your homes

Details:

* Teleport requests expire after 60 seconds.
* You can use /tpaccept or /tpadeny with no argument to accept/deny all incoming requests.
* /rtp works only in the overworld ("world"). It finds a safe spot 500–5000 blocks away from spawn, never near spawn, and never inside water or lava. The spot is always on solid ground with air above.
* Every player can have up to 3 homes by default.
* All commands have a 5-second cooldown.

### Communication & chat

* /msg <player> <message>  — private message (aliases: /w, /tell)
* /r <message> — reply to the last person who messaged you (alias: /reply)
* /skin <nickname>  — set a custom skin from Mojang
* /skin reset — reset your skin to your own by nickname

Details:

* Private messages have a 2-second cooldown.
* Chat messages are formatted with your group prefix and nickname.
* Rich text (colors, gradients, etc.) is supported in chat.
* Chat has a 2-second cooldown to prevent spam.

### Skins

By default the server automatically loads your skin by your Minecraft nickname when you join. If you want a different one:

* /skin <nickname> — apply another player's skin (requires that nickname to exist at Mojang)
* /skin reset — go back to your own skin

If a nickname does not exist at Mojang, the skin cannot be applied.

## Comfort & quality-of-life features

The server includes several handy features to make survival nicer:

### 54-slot ender chest

* Your ender chest now has 54 slots instead of 27. Your items are saved safely and never lost. Old items are migrated automatically the first time you open it.

### Anvil without limits

* The anvil never shows "Too Expensive!" and repairs/enchanting never get more expensive over time. You can rework items as many times as you like at a fair price.

### Sitting

* Right-click on stairs, carpets or slabs to sit down. Right-click again (or move away) to stand up. Cozy base decoration made easy.

### Pillows (decorative)

* Craft 3 wool blocks in a row to get a pillow egg (one recipe for every wool color).
* Right-click a block (or the air) to place a decorative pillow.
* Right-click a placed pillow to sit on it; left-click to break it and get the item back.
* Pillows are purely decorative — a fun way to make your base feel like home.

## Combat tag (PvP)

* When you hit another player (or get hit), you enter combat for 10 seconds.
* While in combat you cannot teleport: /tpa, /tpahere, /tpaccept, /home and /rtp are blocked, and even teleports from portals are cancelled.
* Each new hit refreshes the timer back to the full 10 seconds.
* The timer is shown on your action bar. When combat ends you get a message.
* Dying removes the combat tag.

## Economy

Money is earned by selling items to the server and by trading with other players:

* New players start with 0 money.
* Selling items with /sell pays you from a shared money pool. When the pool is low, /sell pays less or nothing.
* Player-to-player trades (auction house, /pay) just move money between players.
* Your balance is shown on the right side of the screen at all times (compact format like 1.2K, 5M, 1.5B).

### Basic commands

* /balance  — check your balance (alias: /bal)
* /balance <player>  — check another player's balance
* /pay <player> <amount>  — send money to an online player
* /sell — sell the whole stack in your hand at the current price
* /ah  — open the auction house
* /qsell — toggle quick sell (sell without a confirmation dialog)
* /qbuy — toggle quick buy (buy auction lots without a confirmation dialog)

### Selling items & prices

/sell pays you for the stack in your hand, but the price changes. Each item has a base price, and the more that item has been sold recently, the less the server pays for it. Prices slowly recover as time passes.

Practical consequences:

* Selling a huge pile of one item at once collapses its price quickly.
* Prices slowly recover over the next day or so.
* The current price of a stack is shown on the item's tooltip in your inventory (a grey "~$X" line).
* If an item has no price, it cannot be sold at all.
* If the server's money pool is low, /sell pays less or nothing.

### The auction house (/ah)

The auction house is the main way players trade with each other.

Commands:

* /ah  — open the auction menu
* /ah <price> — list the item in your hand for that price
* /ah sell <price>  — same as above
* /ah <query>  — open the auction with a search filter applied

The auction menu (6x9 chest) has a control row with:

* Back / Next — page navigation (45 lots per page)
* Filter — cycles through: Default, Lowest price, Highest price, Recently listed
* Quick buy — opens your quick-buy page
* Auction — refreshes the listing
* Search — search lots by name or enchantment
* Your items — shows only your lots; click one to take it off the auction (the item comes back to your inventory)

Buying: click a lot, confirm the purchase, the money goes from your balance to the seller and the item to your inventory. You cannot buy your own lots.

Listing rules:

* Up to 45 lots per player at the same time.
* There is currently no listing fee and no sales tax.
* When your lot sells, you are notified immediately; if you were offline, you get a "While you were away you sold..." message on your next login.
* If your inventory is full when buying, the excess is dropped at your feet — items are never lost.

### Quick buy & quick sell

* /qsell — toggles "quick sell": /sell sells instantly without the confirmation dialog.
* /qbuy — toggles "quick buy": clicking a lot in the auction buys it instantly without confirmation.

The Quick Buy menu (opened from the auction, or by clicking a slot in the quick-buy page):

* Set up to 45 slots, each with an item and a target quantity.
* To set a slot, click an empty gray pane, pick an item, then pick the quantity with the slider.
* Clicking a filled slot automatically buys the cheapest matching lots until the target quantity is reached.
* The grey "~$X" line on each slot shows the estimated cost based on the current cheapest lots.

### Base item prices

These are the prices the server pays when you sell a single item with /sell (prices drop while many are sold recently):

### Economy & progression tips

* Start by selling only what you don't need. Prices drop when many items are sold, so spread your sales over time instead of selling 10 stacks of iron at once.
* Renewable resources are your best friends: iron farms, gold farms, wool farms, string (spiders), bone (skeletons). They give steady income without depleting your base.
* Logs are worth 12 each — a big tree farm is a reliable early source of cash.
* Emeralds (100) and diamonds (250) are the mid-game workhorses. Villager trading + mining pays well.
* High-value targets for late game: netherite ingots (4000), totems (5000), wither skeleton skulls (1500), tridents (5000), nether stars (10000).
* Use the auction house for convenience items — players will happily pay more than /sell would give you for something they need right now.
* With no listing fee, always list spare loot on the auction instead of throwing it away. Even if it doesn't sell, you lose nothing.
* Look for "flips": with the price filter set to Lowest, find underpriced lots and resell them higher.
* Check the "~$X" tooltip before selling — sometimes it's smarter to auction an item to players than to /sell it.
* Use /qbuy to set up regular purchases of cheap bulk items (logs, stone, food) so you always have materials.
* The anvil lets you combine and repair gear at no penalty — invest in good tools and armor and keep them forever.
* Your 54-slot ender chest is the perfect mobile storage for a traveling trader or raider.

## Progression roadmap

### Early game (day 1)

* /rtp away from spawn to claim your own territory, then /sethome.
* Gather wood and stone, build a starter base, make basic tools.
* Sell surplus wood (12 each) and raw copper/coal for starting capital.
* Set up a small farm for food and a few animals.

### Mid game (first week)

* Get a set of iron tools and armor.
* Build an iron farm — it pays for itself fast (iron ingots are 40 each).
* Start villager trading for emeralds (100 each) and good gear.
* Expand your base: 54-slot ender chest for bulk storage, pillows and sitting spots for style.
* Use the auction house to buy what you're missing and sell what you overproduce.

### Late game

* Enchant and combine gear on the anvil — no "Too Expensive" means you can build the perfect set over time.
* Mine ancient debris for netherite (4,000 per ingot from /sell, more on the auction).
* Farm bosses: wither skeletons, ghasts, shulkers, and the Ender Dragon for the rarest drops.
* Collect the big-ticket items: nether stars (10,000), totems (5,000), tridents (5,000).
* Build a proper shop via the auction house and become the server's merchant.

## Installing Simple Voice Chat

Simple Voice Chat lets you talk to nearby players with your microphone. It requires TWO parts: a mod on your client and a plugin on the server.

1. Install a mod loader if you don't have one yet: Fabric (recommended), Forge, NeoForge or Quilt.
2. Download the Simple Voice Chat mod from Modrinth (the "mod" version) matching your Minecraft version.
3. Put the .jar file into your .minecraft/mods/ folder.
4. Launch the game with the mod loader and connect to the server.
5. Voice chat activates automatically. By default you talk when holding CAPS LOCK (push-to-talk). You can change the key, enable voice activation, and adjust the range in the mod's settings screen (default key to open settings: V).

### Tips

* Both the client mod and the server plugin must be the same Minecraft version.
* Voice distance is proximity-based — the closer you are, the louder you are heard. Group channels can be created by pressing G (configurable).
* If you hear nothing, check that your microphone is selected in the mod settings and that the server firewall allows UDP 24454.
* Simple Voice Chat works alongside Discord/TeamSpeak — it's purely in-game proximity voice.

## FAQ & troubleshooting

* Q: I can't log in / my password is wrong.
  A: Double-check your password (it is case-sensitive). If you forgot it, ask a staff member to reset it.
* Q: I get kicked with "Too many failed login attempts."
  A: This happens after several wrong passwords. Wait a few minutes and try again.
* Q: I connected but I'm waiting on a login screen.
  A: Complete the login dialog on your screen and you'll be moved into the world.
* Q: I can't sell my item.
  A: That item isn't supported by /sell. Check the tooltip — if there's no "~$X" line, it can't be sold. Try the auction house instead.
* Q: /rtp doesn't work.
  A: /rtp only works in the overworld. In other dimensions it will refuse to find a point.
* Q: I keep getting "please wait X sec."
  A: Commands have a 5-second cooldown. Wait a moment and try again.
* Q: I died and lost my stuff.
  A: Normal survival rules apply — the combat tag is removed on death, but your items drop as usual.
* Q: Where did my voice chat go?
  A: Make sure both the client mod and server plugin versions match, and that UDP 24454 is open on the server.

## Final words

That covers everything the server offers. Explore, build, trade, and have fun — and remember: fair play keeps the server fun for everyone. See you on the server!
